Aim
- Education - By engaging student volunteers in community service activities, students learn the value of service and labour; and they also acquire skills, knowledge and attitudes that help them become responsible and productive for social welfare.
- Personality Development - Providing various opportunities to work with diverse groups of people, participation in activities that build character, such as community service projects imbibes leadership skills, communication skills, and sense of social responsibility.
- Community Development - The development of communities is possible by engaging students in various social welfare activities which includes promoting health and hygiene, environmental conservation, literacy campaigns, and promoting social justice.
- National Integration - The NSS seeks to promote national integration by involving students from different regions, religions, and socio-economic backgrounds in community service activities. Through this, students learn to appreciate and respect the diversity and become catalyst of social change.
- Skill Development - To develop the skills and knowledge of students by providing them with opportunities to learn new skills and acquire knowledge in various fields such as health, environment, and community development.
- Voluntary Work - The NSS promotes the spirit of voluntary work among students, which is essential for the development of a strong and inclusive society.
Activities
- Awareness campaigns and community service projects on various social issues such as health, hygiene, environment, and social welfare. These campaigns may include activities such as rallies, poster making, and street plays.
- Fundraising for social causes and charity events, Disaster management and relief activities during natural calamities.
- Workshops and training programs on leadership, communication, team building, and personal development.
- Participation in cultural and sports events at the local and national level. Blood donation camps in collaboration with hospitals and blood banks to encourage students to donate blood and save lives.
- Swachh Bharat Abhiyan participation
Special Camp
It is a week-long residential camp that is organized annually for NSS volunteers in rural or backward areas to undertake community service projects. The Special Camp provides an opportunity for NSS volunteers to engage in more intensive community service activities than what is normally done during regular NSS activities. It is also an opportunity for volunteers to experience rural life, understand the challenges faced by rural communities, and work with them towards their development. The Special Camp is usually organized during the winter vacation, and volunteers are required to stay in the camp for the entire duration of the program. The camp is organized in collaboration with local communities, and the activities undertaken during the camp are determined based on the needs of the community.
The activities undertaken during the Special Camp include:
- Construction of water harvesting structures, and other infrastructure facilities in the community.
- Awareness campaigns on health and hygiene, environmental conservation, and social issues such as drug abuse and child marriage.
- Plantation drives related to environmental conservation.
- Conducting health camps and blood donation camps
- Conducting literacy and numeracy campaigns
- Engaging with local communities to identify their needs and concerns, and providing support and assistance
Activities in Academic Year 2025-26
मएसो सीनियर कॉलेज, पुणे आणि सावित्रीबाई फुले पुणे विद्यापीठ यांच्या संयुक्त विद्यमाने, दिनांक २१ जून २०२५ रोजी ‘भक्तीयोग’ या विशेष उपक्रमाचे आयोजन करण्यात आले. या उपक्रमात एकूण १०७ व्यक्तींनी उत्स्फूर्तपणे सहभाग नोंदवला, ज्यामध्ये वारकरी, रा.से.यो.चे विद्यार्थी स्वयंसेवक, प्राध्यापक वर्ग व प्रशासकीय कर्मचारी यांचा समावेश होता. पारंपरिक वेशभूषेत योग, प्रार्थना व नामस्मरणाचे आयोजन करण्यात आले.
जागतिक पर्यावरण दिनाचे औचित्य साधून मएसो सिनियर कॉलेज, पुणे येथील राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजना (NSS) विभागा तर्फे “एक पेड माँ के नाम २.०” या विशेष वृक्षारोपण उपक्रमाचे आयोजन दिनांक २ जुलै २०२५ रोजी करण्यात आले. या उपक्रमात एकूण ६७ राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजनाचे स्वयंसेवक विद्यार्थ्यांनी उत्स्फूर्त सहभाग घेतला. त्यांनी केवळ महाविद्यालयाच्या परिसरातच नव्हे तर आपल्या स्वतःच्या घराजवळ, सोसायटीमध्ये तसेच सार्वजनिक ठिकाणीही वृक्षारोपण करण्यात आले. प्रत्येक विद्यार्थ्याने आपल्या आईच्या नावाने एक झाड लावून तिच्यावरील प्रेम आणि कृतज्ञता व्यक्त केली.
राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजना (NSS) विभाग व मूल्यशिक्षण उपक्रम अंतर्गत १० जुलै २०२५ रोजी सकाळी ११.४५ वाजता वर्गखोली क्रमांक ४०२ मध्ये गुरुपौर्णिमा निमित्त विशेष कार्यक्रमाचे आयोजन करण्यात आले. या कार्यक्रमात “गुरुपौर्णिमा आणि महर्षि व्यास” या विषयावर निबंध लेखन व वक्तृत्व स्पर्धा घेण्यात आल्या. कार्यक्रमाची सरस्वती वंदनेने झाली. विद्यार्थ्यांनी गुरूंच्या महत्वावर आधारित आपले विचार प्रभावीपणे मांडले. NSS स्वयंसेवकांनी उत्स्फूर्त सहभाग नोंदवला. कार्यक्रमाचे संचालन NSS स्वयंसेवकांनी केले व संयोजनाची जबाबदारी यशस्वीरित्या पार पाडली.
- राष्ट्रीय सेवा योजना (NSS) विभाग, मएसो सिनियर कॉलेज, पुणे यांच्यावतीने रक्षाबंधनाच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर "राखी मेकिंग अॅक्टिव्हिटी" दिनांक 15/07/2025 रोजी यशस्वीपणे पार पडली.
- या उपक्रमात विद्यार्थ्यांनी स्वहस्ते आकर्षक राख्या तयार केल्या व त्या भारतीय जवानांना पाठविण्यासाठी संकलित करण्यात आल्या. विद्यार्थ्यांमध्ये देशप्रेम, सृजनशीलता आणि सामाजिक बांधिलकी निर्माण करण्याचा उद्देश या उपक्रमामागे होता.
पवित्रम फाउंडेशन व मएसो सिनियर कॉलेज, पुणे यांच्या NSS विभागाच्या संयुक्त विद्यमाने १५ ऑगस्ट २०२५ रोजी “भारत माता पूजन व रक्तदान शिबीर” हा उपक्रम भव्यदिव्य पद्धतीने पार पडला. कार्यक्रमाची सुरुवात भारत माता पूजनाने होऊन देशभक्तीचा संदेश देण्यात आला. रक्तदान शिबिरात ८३ दात्यांनी सहभाग घेऊन समाजसेवेचा आदर्श निर्माण केला. या उपक्रमाला विद्यार्थी, नागरिक व स्वयंसेवकांचा उत्स्फूर्त प्रतिसाद लाभला. स्वातंत्र्यदिनाच्या उत्सवाला देशभक्ती, सामाजिक एकता व सेवाभाव यांची समाजोपयोगी दिशा मिळाली.
Activities in Academic Year 2024-25
To create Road safety awareness among youth, a program was organized in association with Young Inspirators Network (YIN) and Suzuki Motor Corporation. The program featured session by Senior Police Inspector Mr. Salgaonkar and his team, including Police Sub-Inspector Mr. Chandrakant Ragatwan (RSP) and Police Constable Mr. Devidas Patil (RSP). Mr. Shantanu Ponkshe from the YIN Foundation also present for the program.
Celebrating the Joy of Giving for Diwali, NSS volunteers visited Matoshree Old Age Home, Adhar Orphanage, Poona Blind School for Girls, and the Kothrud Fire Station. During these visits, the students shared heartwarming interactions with the residents, decorated the spaces with festive cheer, and delighted everyone with their songs and musical performances.
A Dipotsav Sohala celebrated at the Adyakrantikarak Vasudev Balwant Phadke Memorial. NSS students, decorate the Memorial with flowers and light incense sticks, creating a peaceful and fragrant atmosphere. In evening diyas were lit by dignitaries from the Maharashtra Education Society, the heirs of Vasudev Balwant Phadke, Senior College members, and NSS students. The lighting of the diyas was a heartfelt tribute to Vasudev Balwant Phadke, honoring his memory and legacy in a simple, respectful manner.
For the upcoming election, NSS students undertook a Voter Awareness initiative. They created a thought-provoking video encouraging everyone to cast their vote and actively engaged with people around the college premises, public spaces, and neighborhoods to spread awareness about the importance of voting.
The NSS Unit celebrated Constitution Day on 26th November 2024 with a collective reading of the Preamble led by the Principal. Shri. Sagar Shinde, Convener of Vivek Vichar Manch, delivered an insightful speech on the Indian Constitution. The event concluded with the National Anthem, with active participation from students and staff.
NSS unit, participated in the ज्ञानसरीता ग्रंथदिंडी under the Pune Book Festival 2024, promoting reading culture and honoring heritage. Dedicated to Shreemant Bajirao Peshwa, students dressed as historical figures paid tribute to his legacy. The procession, with the message "Knowledge is the true wealth," concluded at Fergusson College.

On June , 2024, our college celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and participation from both students and faculty. The event featured esteemed resource persons from the Art of Living, Swati Marathe and Pratik Gadgil.
The session included a variety of activities focused on enhancing physical and mental well-being. Participants engaged in stretching and flexibility exercises designed to improve their overall fitness. Additionally, Swati Marathe and Pratik Gadgil guided everyone through a series of meditation and mind relaxation techniques, fostering a sense of inner peace and tranquility.
This event highlighted the importance of yoga in daily life and provided valuable insights into maintaining a balanced and healthy lifestyle. It was a rewarding experience for all attendees, promoting wellness and unity within our college community.
