Activities in Academic Year 2024-25
On June , 2024, our college celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and participation from both students and faculty. The event featured esteemed resource persons from the Art of Living, Swati Marathe and Pratik Gadgil.
The session included a variety of activities focused on enhancing physical and mental well-being. Participants engaged in stretching and flexibility exercises designed to improve their overall fitness. Additionally, Swati Marathe and Pratik Gadgil guided everyone through a series of meditation and mind relaxation techniques, fostering a sense of inner peace and tranquility.
This event highlighted the importance of yoga in daily life and provided valuable insights into maintaining a balanced and healthy lifestyle. It was a rewarding experience for all attendees, promoting wellness and unity within our college community.

The serene ambience of the college provided the perfect backdrop for this rejuvenating event. Led by experienced yoga instructors, the faculty members gathered in a dedicated space, eager to immerse themselves in the practice of yoga. The session commenced with gentle warm-up exercises, gradually transitioning into a series of yoga postures and breathing techniques. As the participants synchronized their movements with their breath, a sense of calmness and tranquility enveloped the room. The instructors guided the faculty through various meditative practices, allowing them to explore inner peace and rejuvenation. MES Senior College, in collaboration with Savitribai Phule Pune University and Pune City Zonal Sports Committee (PCZSC), successfully hosted the Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving (Men & Women) and Water Polo (Men) Competition on September 16, 2023, at Tilak Tank, Deccan Gymkhana. The event, inaugurated by Mr. Shailesh Apte, Kreeda Bharati Pune City President, drew enthusiastic participation from over 90 students representing various colleges in Pune. The competitive spirit and sportsmanship displayed during the event showcased the vibrant athletic talent within the student community.
MES Senior College, in collaboration with Savitribai Phule Pune University, successfully hosted the Interzonal Swimming and Diving (Men & Women) and Water Polo (Men) Competition on September 30, 2023, at Tilak Tank, Deccan Gymkhana. The event marked a significant athletic gathering, attracting participants from four distinct zones: Pune City Zone, Pune District Zone, Nashik Zone, and Ahmednagar Zone. The competition commenced with the esteemed presence of Mr. Manoj Erande, a distinguished member of the Board of Sports, who inaugurated the event, setting the stage for a day filled with spirited sportsmanship and aquatic excellence.
Day 1
MES Senior College, commenced with its annual sports event Khel Urjja 2024 on the first day, January 8th, 2024, with an engaging Interclass Chess Tournament that witnessed an impressive turnout of enthusiastic students. The deserving winners of this strategic battle were Om Bokariya from SYBBA securing the 1st position, and Shivanurag Jamdar from FYBBA-CA claiming the 2nd spot. Both participants exhibited commendable strategic prowess and admirable sportsmanship.
Day 2
On Khel Urjja Day 2 at MES Senior College, the Interclass Carrom Tournament showcased impressive performances with 43 men and 10 women participants. The winners include Anuj Deshpande, Yash Sharma, and Rohit Gijare in men's singles, and Dnyaneshwari Bankar, Radhika Jadhav, and Harshada Jadhav in women's singles. Notable victories in doubles were secured by teams SYBBA, TYBBA-IB, and TYBBA-CA. The Mix Doubles category winners were TYBBA-CA's Dnyaneshwari Bankar & Jay Kale.

MES Senior College in Pune, in collaboration with Kreeda Bharti (Pune Mahanagar), organized an exhilarating ringostick competition on February 3rd, 2024. The event showcased remarkable talent and sportsmanship, with a total of 30 teams participating – 18 boys' teams and 12 girls' teams.
The opening ceremony was graced by Shirin Godbole, Shiv Chatrapati Awardee 2019-20 for the best mentor in kho-kho, and Raj Chaudhari, Akhil Bhartiya Mahamantri Krida Bharti. Their presence added prestige to the event, setting the tone for an exciting competition.
In the girls' category, Renuka Swarup Memorial Girls High School dominated the podium, securing the first, second, and third positions. Arya Naik, the captain of the third-placed team, displayed exceptional skills with three impressive goals, triumphing over Garware College of Commerce.
Sayali Waghmare and Diya Nagare, captains of the first and second-placed teams respectively, showcased their outstanding abilities, contributing to the success of Renuka Swarup Memorial Girls High School in the competition.The boys' category witnessed MES Sou Vimlabai Garware High School, Junior College securing the third position, with team captain Datta Mali leading the way. Vasantrao Sakharam Sanas Junior College emerged as the winners, with Sohail Shahu captaining the team to clinch the first position. Garware College of Commerce (Garware Warriors), led by Prasad Marekar, secured the second position in a highly competitive field.
The event celebrated not only the spirit of sports but also highlighted the immense talent and dedication of the participants. The closing ceremony was graced by Vijay Purandare, Krida Bharti All India Governing Body Member and West Maharashtra President, adding a prestigious conclusion to a memorable affair for all involved.
