The Savitribai Phule Pune University Inter-Collegiate Men’s Chess Tournament (Pune City Zone) was successfully organized at MES Senior College, Pune from October 3 to 5, 2025. The event was conducted under the joint auspices of the Pune City Zonal Sports Committee and MES Senior College.
Inaugural Ceremony (October 3, 2025)
The tournament was inaugurated at the hands of Mr. Jayant Ghokhale as Chief guest, with Mr. Shailesh Apte as the Guest of Honour. The ceremony was graced by Dr. Poonam Rawat (Vice-Principal, MES Senior College), Dr. Deepak Shendkar (Selection Committee Member), and Chief Arbiter Mr. Jitendra Walimbe. Dr. Abhijeet Garg, Organizing Secretary, briefed the participants about the tournament rules and structure. The compering, welcome address, and vote of thanks were handled by Ms. Neha Kulkarni.
A large number of teams from various Pune city colleges participated enthusiastically. The first six rounds were completed successfully, with players showing great competitive spirit and determination.

After the sixth round, the competition intensified with five players jointly leading the table —

Final Day and Results (October 5, 2025)
The final rounds (7th, 8th, and 9th) were played on the concluding day. The matches were fiercely contested, with several top-rated FIDE players in action. A total of 170 players from different colleges participated, including 23 FIDE-rated players.
After nine intense rounds, five players finished with 7.5 points each, and the final rankings were determined by tie-break scores.

MES Senior College and Sakal Organize Suzuki Slow Bike Race Competition
MES Senior College, in association with Sakal, proudly hosted the Suzuki Slow Bike Race Competition for students on 6th December 2024 at 1:00 PM. This unique event, emphasizing control and balance over speed, witnessed enthusiastic participation from 32 talented students.
The competition was intense yet fun-filled, with participants demonstrating exceptional focus and skill. After a series of gripping rounds, the two slowest riders emerged victorious, securing their place in the grand finale.
This event was a testament to the spirit of sportsmanship and the innovative approach to fostering physical and mental agility among students. Congratulations to all participants and best wishes to the finalists for their next challenge.




On June , 2024, our college celebrated International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm and participation from both students and faculty. The event featured esteemed resource persons from the Art of Living, Swati Marathe and Pratik Gadgil.
The session included a variety of activities focused on enhancing physical and mental well-being. Participants engaged in stretching and flexibility exercises designed to improve their overall fitness. Additionally, Swati Marathe and Pratik Gadgil guided everyone through a series of meditation and mind relaxation techniques, fostering a sense of inner peace and tranquility.
This event highlighted the importance of yoga in daily life and provided valuable insights into maintaining a balanced and healthy lifestyle. It was a rewarding experience for all attendees, promoting wellness and unity within our college community.

The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 60 teams, showcasing talent and teamwork in two exciting sports categories:

MES Senior College, in association with Savitribai Phule Pune University, successfully organized the Interzonal Swimming Competition on 19th October 2024 at Tilak Tank, Deccan Gymkhana.
