On February 21, 2024, MES Senior College Pune, in association with Savitribai Phule Pune University, Bhartiya Shikshan Mandal, and Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute, organized a one-day workshop on the Indian Knowledge System (IKS). The workshop featured six sessions covering various aspects of IKS:
Dr. Ganti Murthy discussed the concept of IKS, research, and innovation, as well as parampara levels, the four ashramas, and Indian economics framework.
Dr. Mandar Bhanushe explored the relationship between the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and IKS, alongside the origin and branches of the knowledge system and pedagogy.
Dr. Pradeep Apte delved into economic affairs in the Mahabharata, emphasizing the importance of IKS in commerce and management.
Dr. Shashikant Katre focused on IKS in mathematics, covering geometric concepts, Bodhayana Sulbhasutras, Suryasiddhanta, and astronomy.
Dr. Prasad Bhide highlighted IKS in arts and cultural studies, discussing the duality of cognition, Dnyanam Vidnyanam, oral tradition, and textual tradition.
Dr. Smita Lele explored IKS in science, including chemistry concepts, the science
